Growing up, I spent about equal time in Northern Texas, Northern Colorado, and Northern California before graduating from high school in the Sacramento area. I had two loves from a young age: art and music, but it was, to everyone's surprise, music that I decided to choose as a major for college. After a 10-year break to work in the “real world”, I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in music. At the same time, I also earned a second bachelor's in a newfound love: linguistics.
Over the years, my professional experience has included fun and challenging jobs such as senior tech support & reseller support tech lead at Apple, senior systems admin at Schlotszky's, graphic designer & web programmer for the LBJ Presidential Library, IT director, web content writer, and, if you can believe it, interim singles minister.
I have been doing art and design for as long as I can remember—my first paying gig was in high school, and I have been doing professional web development/programming since 2002. My skills include web programming with PHP, HTML, jQuery, and MySQL; professional proficiency with PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Keynote; and a strong emphasis on user interface and usability.
